Teacher Pages on a School Website
When browsing the Leon County Schools website, I looked through several teacher pages from local elementary schools. Many teachers include basic class information such as weekly homework updates, contact details, class newsletters, and links to helpful learning resources like math games or reading websites. Some pages also have a calendar for upcoming events, reminders about tests, and classroom photos to keep parents informed. The layout varies by teacher, but overall, these pages are meant to keep communication open between teachers, students, and families while offering connection at the same time.
Using Technology for Teaching Efficiency
As a future teacher, I plan to use technology to make my classroom more organized and interactive. I would rely on tools like Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and Canva for Education to manage assignments, communicate with parents, and create visually engaging materials. I also plan to use Google Forms for quick assessments and surveys. Using these tools will not only save time but also help me keep parents informed and give students easy access to resources, which ultimately improves communication and classroom management.
Reflection on Assignment 2: Critical Evaluation and Canvas Group
Working on the Critical Evaluation assignment using the Canvas group taught me a lot about collaboration and lesson design. I think AI can effectively support lesson planning by generating creative activity ideas, aligning with standards, and providing structure for objectives and materials. However, the teacher’s expertise is still needed to make lessons personal, engaging, and appropriate for the students’ grade level and learning needs. Evaluating an AI-generated plan helped me understand that a good lesson plan balances creativity, clear objectives, and differentiation. I liked how Canvas made group communication easy, but I found the discussion boards a bit clunky to navigate. If I could recommend another tool, I’d choose Google Docs, since it allows for real-time editing and smoother collaboration.
